Orange Shirt Day
On September 29th, NAYA Native Made will be hosting an Orange Shirt Day event at the munk-yeʔlan sax̣ali office @ 4636 NE 42nd Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97218 from 11am - 7pm.
This event is being held to honour those who survived residential schools, boarding schools, day schools and forced adoption / assimilation efforts by the church and government, as well as the children who never made it home to their families and communities.
There will be drop-in community art activities for Native people to honour their family members, and we will be offering light refreshments alongside a pop up from our friends Javelina.
We are also doing an open call for sharing honour songs at 6pm to help close out the day.
Please fill out this form if you are interested in sharing a song.
Orange Shirt Day shirts will be available for sale from 11am – 7pm.
